Central European University (CEU) is a graduate research-intensive university specializing primarily in the social sciences. It is located in Budapest, and accredited in the United States and Hungary. CEU's mission is to promote academic excellence, state-of-the-art research, and civic engagement, in order to contribute to the development of open societies in Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, and other emerging democracies throughout the world. CEU offers both Master's and doctoral programs, and enrolls more than 1500 students from nearly 100 countries. The teaching staff consists of more than 140 resident faculty, from over 40 countries, and a large number of prominent visiting scholars from around the world. The language of instruction is English.
The Human Resources Office (HRO) of the Central European University is seeking candidates for a full-time "Human Resources Generalist" position.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare contracts and information materials for Hungarian/foreign employees
- Interpret and advise Hungarian/foreign employees on employment legislation, including social security contributions and personal income tax
- Prepare, process and distribute information to the payroll for assigned units, administer and explain benefits to employees
- Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on University policies, procedures and documentation
- Maintain HR database and HR files
- Participate in the recruitment activities of CEU administrative staff
- Coordinate specific projects managed by HRO

Qualifications and skills:
- College/university degree
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Min. 3 -5 years experience as HR generalist
- Fluency in English and Hungarian
- Full computer literacy
- Precision, attention to detail, priority-setting, multiple-tasking
- Very good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience of working in multicultural environment and/or at a university is an advantage
Compensation:
