This highly interactive masterclass will focus on a critical challenge for companies: How to implement a system for leadership development. Designed for both HR and line managers, the topics we will cover are the "technical" processes that must be introduced, and the underlying culture. Those attitudes and actions that must be exhibited, especially by senior executives - that are necessary to support the effectiveness of those processes that enable leadership development. We will discuss a range of methods that leaders must employ at various levels and in the various functions that comprise the organization. Discussion will also centre around the risks and challenges that must be dealt with by upwardly-mobile executives, as they take on greater responsibilities.

The discussion of leadership itself will be framed by two key ideas. First, that aspiring leaders must develop and continue to enrich their own model of leadership ensuring that it will be effective in the organizations in which they work. Second, those leaders need a clear model of their own lives - especially what they must do to nurture themselves over the period of their life during which they perform the hard work of leadership. There will be a strong emphasis on participants learning from one another, in addition to inputs from Preston and a senior executive with deep experience of the region.
